アイテム説明

Some Book is a story about the person who writes the book, the person who reads the book, and a child left within its pages.

Some books are closed because readers lose interest, others because they feel burdensome to continue. Within such closed books, a child remains—breathing, eating, thinking, dreaming, and living—though no one knows of their existence. Until one day, someone reopens the book and discovers the child again.

Review by Atnoon

“Like someone who sees behind the stage, I lost interest in the book.”

This child realizes early on that the world cannot be explained in just a single word or sentence. Yet, after countless others leave for their own reasons, the child is left alone.

Perhaps each of us has, at some point, been unintentionally left behind—like a story halted midway in a forgotten book, with its plot and characters abandoned. The beings left inside are easily erased from our memories.

In this way, Some Book is like uncovering the hidden story behind the story itself, awakening those overlooked memories.

“It was the same sentence, but suddenly it felt different when read.”

Fortunately, the child left behind becomes the protagonist within the book, writing their own story. With no author to script the plot and no readers to recite the words, they record their own life and whisper it aloud. All we need to do is remember the pages of the child’s past and wait for the next chapter.

This story invites us to reopen the book tucked away on a dusty shelf, to rediscover beautiful sentences, and to see the hidden side of the world.

Author’s Review

I believe every person sees the world through their own eyes and interprets it in their own context, in the direction they choose. This act of seeing is itself a process of understanding.

Yet the world is not flat—it is three-dimensional, mutable, and unpredictable. In this book, I wanted to depict an individual who confronts the world’s multiplicity. Faced with so many perspectives, the character becomes confused, realizing that each viewpoint exists independently and that there are no definitive answers. In frustration, they isolate themselves in an environment devoid of perspective.

Ironically, only when they realize that their own life and surroundings are also multifaceted and ever-changing can they break free from this isolation, regaining both freedom and agency.

At its heart, this work explores the understanding of multiplicity and the affirmation of subjectivity.
